Craving: Velvet

We all have have our little sweet spots. Some of us crave chocolate in the form of bon bons while others crave it in fabric. I've always found myself to be highly susceptible to cravings - items I become focused on, and can't let go until I get "a fix."
My cravings run the gamut, from design inspiration, to foods, to everyday things I spy out and about. Some are more lust-worthy than others, but I think they're worth a special post slot, and thus, Monday Cravings.
Typically, we're all scrounging for some inspiration after our weekend has expired; I hope my Craving series will put some pep in your step on Mondays!

Velvet is something that's been tempting me for some time. I need some velvet in my life. Maybe something green, or gray, very possibly tufted, or perhaps in a highly-saturated hue (my all-time fave being yellow.) Whatever. Me craves!

I never thought I would be a velvet fan, but the way it is being used today is fantastic. These are all great examples! Hot Pink or Yellow Velvet is my fave:)

I'm craving Reese's Cups.

Which has little to do with the topic at hand.

I do want a velvet sofa, preferably in a greyish purple, when I re-do the family room.

Oh, me too. I can't get velvet out of my mind lately, especially green (more specifically: charteuse) or rust.

I heart velvet...A LOT. I believe J Crew had a bright yellow velvet blazer last fall. It's been on my brain since. Makes me crave fall so much. Football, cooler weather, jeans and long sleeves.

Oh, yeah! I love velvet. You have inspired me to dream of a velvet couch in our playroom - in a wonderful deep marine blue. Sounds like something to sink into when the kiddos are racing around at breakneck pace.....Thanks for the inspiration.

P.S. In my next life I'm going to have hot pink velvet chairs.
