Remember when Williams Sonoma would release a new line of hand soaps and lotions with each season? I was so frustrated when they discontinued that tradition, instead opting for (in my opinion) less-yummy, and more "standard" scents to be carried year round. Way back when they were still doing the seasonal scents, they carried a Basil fragrance. It was crisp, clean - aromatherapy each time you washed your hands.
I've been on the lookout for something similar ever since, but haven't had much luck until recently... The last time I was Home, my mom and sister had snagged these goodies...

I'm sure you've all heard of Mrs. Meyer's, but did you know they have a really pleasant Basil scent? Between the hand soap, dish soap, and countertop spray - my kitchen maintains a wonderful, fresh aroma, and I've become a cleaning fool (that could be from the hormones, too, though!)
I bought mine via here, but I imagine you can find it anywhere Green cleaning supplies are sold.

**UPDATE - Just checked WS - and they DO have Basil again! Have any of you tried it? Wonder if it's the same formula?? FYI - Mrs. Meyer's price points are still friendlier!

I haven't tried them, but they always looked so appealing in their pretty bottles. I'm just worried about where to find these things in Tokyo! Yikes!
Maybe I'll stock up on some before we leave.
love mrs. meyers. the lavender scent is my fave but I may need to try the basil next time.
A little FYI: Mrs. Meyer's is made by Caldrea. It is my understanding that Caldrea is also responsible for making Williams Sonoma's goodies. Check Whole Foods for Mrs. Meyer's too. They have a multi-purpose cleaner in concentrate that will last FOREVER! I think a 1/4 a cup in water makes a gallon of cleaner!
It's funny that you should mention the basil fragrance. I just saw some basil and mint WS candles at TJ Maxx for $12.99. I snagged a few for small Christmas gifts for friends. It's such a clean scent.
I am sooo hooked on Mrs. Meyers. In fact...that is all I use these days. Love the geranium. Have used and like the basil...But my absolute FAVE is their peppermint(with a touch of vanilla) they bring out at the Holidays...Oh heaven!
thank god the basil is back! i have been waiting for years for them to make it again. thanks so much, i am ordering some right now!
I got hooked on these at a friends house and as I ran out of old school cleaners I started switching over to these. The concentrated products are worth their weight in gold. Fantastic!
i have used mrs meyers basil before. i loved when i first started using it then i got pregs and had a miscarriage and unfortunately the smell now reminds me of those dark days. but it is a nice smell.
i realize now that the previous comment might be a little TMI...sorry.
Sounds yummy...I've never tried it but will now be on the lookout for it. This may sound strange but I love the smell of pine sol. I put a little in a spray bottle mixed mostly with water and use it to clean most surfaces in my house. Likely a majorly toxic recipe.:-)
I love Mrs. Meyer's branding/packaging, but haven't tried any yet. Love the idea of a basil scent though (SO much better than lavender...ugh).
I love all Mrs. Meyers stuff but I have yet to try out the Basil line. Next time I need more cleaning supplies I'm going to get these- thanks for the tip!
Hi I have a huge soap fetish love the packaging and what a wonderful scent, wish I was in USA!P.S it would be lovely to see you @ my Halloween Ball! Sharon xxoo
I'm a huge sucker for products!! And interesting that Caldrea makes them.. (just read that above) because I'm a sucker for their product as well! Looks like I'm going to have to go to WS and see for myself. :)
i need that stuff badly...i see it and pass it up.
I'm a big fan of Mrs. Meyers-especially the Lemon Verbena and the Honeysuckle which unfortunately was a limited edition.
love the basil...it's sitting at my kitchen sink!
Love love love the basil. I bought it a few weeks ago and actually ENJOY doing dishes because it smells so yummy!
