Oooh-weee - I couldn't wait to get back to you, dear blogaronies!! Our long weekend in Rio was wonderful!! We were hosted by our friends Alex and Anelisa Liboneti de Abreu. They have the most beautiful home that they designed and built a few years ago - I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, knowing they cannot fully do justice to this amazing casa. Muito obrigada, Alex and Anelisa - I hope we can repay your hospitality sometime soon!
The balcony view of the neighbor's home, and The Mountain - not too shabby...you know, if you like that sort of thing! ;)
Our gracious hosts, with their oh-so-cute son, Arthur
The Great Outdoors of Rio - The famous Corcovado (magnificent and huge!) and Pão de Açúcar, wildlife and flora near their home
Alex is a design junkie like me, so we had a great time hashing around ideas for interiors, furniture, etc...He showed us his "idea book" full of the tear sheets he used when working with the architect who designed their home. I'll admit, I found myself getting a little pea green at the thought of being able to turn magazine pictures into a real-life home!
He also took us to Casa Shopping - a mall dedicated entirely to shelter stores - can you say, yummy?! My brain was just swirling with ideas by the time we left - and as an added bonus, I snagged some pillows and a throw to complement our TV room re-do. I'm loving the pops of yellow!

We rounded out the weekend with a trip to the Sunday "Hippie" Artists' Fair in Ipanema where we found two really cool paintings that we got for a steal - I'll post them when we get them framed.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and have the chance to visit Rio de Janeiro sometime - it is such an amazing and alive city!
P.S. - If you care to see the rest of my pics from the weekend, I'll be posting a photo album on my FB page under "Rio"

Dear Alison,
We are glad you enjoyed your weekend in Rio, it was a pleasure having you here (and again, sorry about English...). As I said, that is the reason we planned a big house.
It is so exciting having our home on your blog. Thank you!
Here are some sites you should take a look at: http://nenecavalcanti.blogspot.com/ - the pottery angels
www.brasilfeitoamao.com.br/artesanato - lots of Brazilian popular art work
www.ancoramoveis.com.br - furniture from Tiradentes, MG (where we ordered some of the pieces we have in our kitchen and dinning room).
Have a nice weekend!
Anelisa
P.S. I loved your blog! Congrats! And Arthur said hi and keeps asking about Avery.
What I mean was sorry about my English!!! It sounded like Me Tarzan you Jane...
