OK, I think I've pulled together what I'd like to do with the TV room, it's so different than any look I've ever done before, but I think my tastes are evolving, so I'm going with it. Here's my idea board, along with some digital scribblings....
I'm thinking gray, black, accents of yellow as the color scheme...
As mentioned, I'm no pro at MS Paint, but pull on your imagination hat, and go with me....
I'd love to have new TV cabinet, because I'd much rather be able to close up the unit when not in use, but, working within a fiscal and geographical budget requires creativity... To get a dramatic background that'll enhance screen visibility, I'd like to hang a velvet drape behind the TV cabinet. I found a gray one that might work great. Then, I'll paint the TV stand black, maybe replacing the hardware with some unlacquered brass....
To keep it from looking like Seattle on a bad day, the Asian chairs will be recovered in Della Lemon It's a rich, sunny yellow with a beautiful black and white scroll design - Hmmm?

I'll change the lampshade, and cover the throw pillows in a complementary fabric, picking up the yellow, and I'll switch out the kilim rug. I'd love to replace the trunk with a more modern coffee table - maybe something parsons-ish??? There's some great modern design down here, so I'm keeping my eyes open! The other side chair will probably get something like a black & white stripe, or other coordinating, but not matchy-matchy fabric
Obviously, we need some art to fill all these white walls, but that takes time - as will this entire project, I imagine...
So, your thoughts???
Oh!! Happy Halloween, and have a great weekend!!

Vacation is wonderful, but I've been missing the blog!! Love all the ideas for the house. I can't wait to see what you end up doing...whatever it is will be fantastic.
I love the yellow scroll fabric from Calico Corners. It's amazing. I'm also on a big yellow/gray kick. I've been thinking about it for a couple of months now and it is what I'm going to be doing in my dining room.
