Classic!

I have to admit, it was really fun to show my three year-old a REAL princess on tv this morning. I also have to think that her reaction to the throngs of adoring peeps would be much the same as this little flower girl's.

Gotta love it.

Ready?

Even if you're ready for all the hub-bub of a royal wedding to be over you must admit their official portrait is perfection.
I'll watch to see what she wears, probably the rest of the high points by recast. I think she pretty much rocks, so I hope she hits a home run tomorrow. High five, Waitey Katie!

For Realz

Does your house become this when you try to escape to the blogs for a few minutes?

Today begins the long, Easter weekend down here (i.e. no school) So, I may or may not have anything better to offer you later in the day. High hopes, though!

This could rock my world

Do-able, right? Here

Guest Blogging at Life Made Simple

My friend, Heather invited me to guest post in her Top 10 Favorite Things series. I didn't quite make it to the double-digits, but if you'd like a little peek into the things in Casa G that make my heart smile on a daily basis, go here.

Needin' a Hookup + Dreamy Kitchens

I think this kitchen might be the perfect bridge between white and too white.

I NEED to see it in its entirety, but I'm SOL trying to find this special edition down here (no digital version from what I can gather). Any Canadian friends wanna hook me up with a scan?

*Update* - Raina to the rescue! The kitchen is in fact a Lonny kitchen, but I guess H&H is doing an editorial of the same space.

While I await the goodness of the glossy gods, let's recap a few H&H kitchen oldies but goodies. Note: Ginormous. I realize the size may be skewed, but that's still a really large working (stove/fridge/sink) triangle to muster. Also, is that a brass pot filler amid all that stainless? If so, touch of warm metal = goodness.

Bold yet beautiful. Obviously not worried about resale potential.

Fancy pants. It's alright, though. If you wanna go JLo in your kitchen design, I'm good with that. Just have me over for one of the espresso's that baby back there can whip up.

H&H poiters kitchen

Minimalist Art Collector knows what he's doing. Hope he doesn't mind splatters.

H&H Kitchen 1

Velvet in the kitchen. Possibly the most impractical application you could imagine for the fabric. Does that make this kitchen smug?

H&H eclectic kitchen

Contrast painting of mullions is delightful. Marble subways, no complaints. Stainless countertops = noise and a lot of dull knives.

H&H black cabinet kitchen

All-time favorite.

Also, I'm thinking of starting a food blog. Would you follow? Need a clever name, though...

Monkey Wrench

So, you've had it with hides? You're done with B&W chevrons?
How 'bout this for a little monkey wrench?
Thanks, Alcira, for introducing us to the world of Zara Home

I Imagine..

...being able to sit uninterrupted with my thoughts and blogs in a place like this

(tiger pelt and all)
Although, it wouldn't necessarily need to be quite that grand...

I'd just like to have the time to congeal my ideas...

My mind is just sort of toast these days, and more demands on my time have left my brain feeling like a big void. I hate it when that happens... I feel like such a lame-O blogstress.

This makes me feel better, though...
Guess who had a 1st Birthday party? Yes, already.

Potty Time

Please tell me I'm not the only person who takes pictures of interesting public restrooms...
Brazilians tend to be very imaginative and detail-oriented when it comes to restrooms - especially with basins, and I dig that about them! (I also dig that said restrooms are typically spotless, and there's nearly always a pint-sized version for kiddos)
Speaking of kiddos - we're hosting Isla's 1st birthday festa this weekend. She actually turns one next week *sniff, sniff*, but we're extending the celebration a bit. Undoubtedly, there will be pics next week.
Potty on, Stalkers!

Dreaming up a Glammy Nursery

Yo, yo, Happy Stalkers! Today, I'm having the most fun playing Dream Decorator to Bailey Q's Baby Girl today at Peppermint Bliss. If you don't know Bailey, well, shame on you, because she's one clever and hilarious (Native Texan!) babe. Secondly, check out her Braziliant design skills as evidenced in her home, featured in the latest issue of Rue.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere. That intangible quality - a vibe that contributes to whether or not you want to spend time in a space. You know when it's there, you certainly know when it's not. Our main living room, with its large, white walls was definitely lacking in the atmosphere department.
So this weekend, we did something about it.
You should see it at night.
Justify FullKiller atmosphere.
